Heys welcome Sandbach United to Adie Moran Park this Saturday afternoon for another key clash in the race for promotion.
Jon Lyons team presently sit in 4th spot with our visitors sat one place lower in 5th. Four points separate the teams but Heys have played three games fewer.
When the teams met earlier in the season, Heys produced arguably their best display of the season in winning 6-0 at Hind Heath Road.
It was painful defeat for Sandbach and is sure to act as added motivation for them on Saturday. The Cheshire side did respond well to that defeat and have shown solid form since. They have secured victories over Whitchurch and Silsden and drawn at Alsager since and come into this game on the back of three successive wins. It’s a run that has put them firmly back in the promotion hunt and in James Kirkby, scorer of 17 goals in 27 appearances, they possess the Division’s third highest scorer.
The message from the Heys management will doubtless be to set aside any memories of “that win” and focus on the task in hand.
Heys are in good form themselves, unbeaten in six games which have yielded 14 points. This is the second game of four against teams in the promotion race and they know there is no margin for error. Three points, whilst not proving decisive with so much football still to play, will be a huge boost to those promotion ambitions.
Admission is Adults £5, Concessions £3 (including student card holders), Under 16’s with an Adult Free.
