Heys travel to Whitchurch Alport on Saturday for a game that even at this early stage of the season may prove of signifigance.
Alport, having missed out on promotion in the play offs last season, were labelled many people's favourites for the title this season.
Their form thus far has done nothing to dispel that notion with 23 points collected from their first ten games putting them fifth in the table. Ordinarily, that would be title form and whilst they find themselves firmly amongst the early contenders they are, along with Heys, pursuing runaway leaders Silsden.
Whitchurch were free scoring last season , notching 97 goals and whilst their 25 in total thus far is nothing to be sniffed at, it is defensively where there they are looking stronger this time round with only six goals conceded thus far - the best in the division.
Heys are the free scorers this time round with 42 goals in thier first 13 games, making them the division's highest scorers. It's that contrast, best defence against top scorers that provides one of the interesting facets of Saturday's game.
Both teams will also be looking to put down a a marker. Heys could open an eight point gap on their hosts with victory whilst Alport, who have three games in hand, could move within two points of Jon Lyons team.
With two teams bursting with talent, a fascinating encounter is on the cards and whilst nothing is going to be decided in the grand scheme of things on Saturday, both will feel they have the chance to land an early rounds blow at Yockings Park.
