Heys welcome Cheadle Town to Adie Moran Park on Boxing Day.
The teams last met in the early weeks of the season when Heys won 4-2 at Park Road, on the back of a powerful first half performance that saw them go in three goals to the good at the interval.
Since then the fortunes of the teams have been contrasting.
Heys have had losing streaks of three and four games either side of an eleven-match unbeaten run of which ten were won. However, having returned to winning ways with an impressive 3-0 victory at Carlisle on Saturday they go in to the game firmly amongst the leading pack, chasing promotion to the Premier Division come May.
Cheadle’s season has been very much stop-start. They have proved capable of some impressive wins, defeating Alsager and Sandbach for example, to show their capabilities, but then coming unstuck against supposed lesser opposition almost immediately after.
The puzzle of their form becomes more complex when taking a closer look at their playing record. They sit 15th in the table with 21 points from 17 games. However, sixteen of those points have come away from home in their nine fixtures on the road.
It’s that form they will be looking to capture today as they look to climb the table and damage Heys promotion push.
