Heys welcome Sandbach United to Adie Moran Park on Saturday hoping for a return to winning ways.
After going on an eleven-match unbeaten run they have now lost three on the bounce in League and Cup.
The performances too have been below par, marking a remarkable turnaround in fortunes. Their last win, 6-0 at Sandbach, seems a long time ago now and Heys, although remaining the League’s top scorers, have failed to score in their last two games.
However, Heys have suddenly not turned into a bad team and are still well placed, firmly amongst the leading pack. Getting back to basics and remembering the things they did in that superb run will have been at the forefront of preparations for todays’ game.
Indeed, Sandbach have enjoyed better fortunes since that defeat to Heys. They bounced back to record a superb win over a Tranmere Rovers side in the Cheshire Cup. That result is one of three wins in the four of late, the most recent being a 2-1 win over promotion rivals Whitchurch.
They will be all out to avenge their home defeat to Heys and fortunes since show that it would be foolish to read anything into what happened that day.
