Heys welcome Carlisle City to Adie Moran Park on Saturday hoping for a return to winning ways.
After going on an eleven-match unbeaten run they have now lost three on the bounce in League and Cup.
The performances too have been below par, marking a remarkable turnaround in fortunes. Their last win, 6-0 at Sandbach, seems a long time ago now and Heys, although remaining the League’s top scorers, have failed to score in their last two games.
However, Heys have suddenly not turned into a bad team and are still well placed, firmly amongst the leading pack. Getting back to basics and remembering the things they did in that superb run will have been at the forefront of preparations for the game.
They encounter a Carlisle side that have had an up and down season but seem to be heading in the right direction with some notable results in the past month. Home victories over Litherland and Whitchurch and a narrow defeat at Silsden, where the hosts scored two late goals, show the potential of the Cumbrian side.
A last minute equaliser by Widnes denied them in the Macron Cup on Monday night and it is clear Heys will have to be back at it if they are to prevail today.
Last season Heys won the meeting at Adie Moran Park 4-0 whilst Carlisle won the return 1-0.
