Heys welcome Abbey Hulton United to Adie Moran Park on Saturday.
It’s the Staffordshire sides first ever visit to Prestwich in what is their inaugural season in the Hallmark Security League.
They opened the campaign with an opening day win over Daisy Hill and have since lost just one game, a 1-0 reverse at Cheadle. Their record also includes draws at home to Stockport Town (3-3) and away at Whitchurch (0-0).
The latter result highlights the defensive strength United have shown so far, having conceded only eight goals in their nine games played.
Last Saturday’s point at Eccleshall, in a 0-0 draw, was their fourth in the last six games, and since the start of the season they have drawn five of the nine games played so far, winning three.
Currently in 8th place, two points off the play off places, they will see Saturday’s game and next weekend’s home game against Sandbach as a chance to break into that top six.
Heys come into the game on the back of three successive wins.
Last Saturday’s 2-0 win at St. Helens followed the stunning 8-0 demolition of Daisy Hill in our last home game. Prior to that Heys had won 5-3 at Eccleshall. The wins propelled Heys up to third in the table.
They will be hoping to extend that run of form today ahead of a busy October that sees away games against two other of the early promotion challengers in Alsager and Whitchurch.
