Heys welcome Sandbach United to Adie Moran Park for the second leg of this LWC Drinks Cup semi-final.
The 1st leg, played last month in gusting winds and arctic conditions was a hard-fought encounter which Heys won 2-1.
Heys scored twice in the first half thanks to goal from Lee Bruce and Jake Wood. However, Sandbach hit back in the second half and Jordan Davies scored a goal that puts today’s game on a knife edge.
It will be the fourth time the teams have met this season. Heys have won all three previous encounters. In the League Jon Lyons team won 6-0 at Sandbach back in November but the return fixture, ten days ago was a much tighter affair, with Heys winning 2-1.
Sandbach will feel they are due a win over Heys and they come into the game in good form. Indeed, they have won twelve of their last fifteen games, drawing one and losing only two, both those games being against Heys.
Heys themselves have been in great form. Despite a punishing spell of 12 games in 32 days they have won ten of those to secure a play- off spot in the League.
The winners will face Cammell Laird in the Final on 9th May.
