Heys and AFC Blackpool are meeting at Adie Moran for the second time this season.
Whilst this fixture is in the LWC Cup, the previous encounter, on a balmy September afternoon, was in the League and saw Blackpool edge a tight contest 1-0.
Indeed, the Mechanics are looking for a hat-trick of victories as they also won 1-0 here, in the League, last season.
Last years success was something of a shock victory, but the win in September, was in keeping with a good season so far which sees Blackpool in the hunt for a play-off place.
With former Wren Rovers Manager Dave Worthington at the helm, they were always fancied to go well this season and after a slow start they have steadily accumulated points. They climbed up to fifth at one point but defeats in their last two outings have seen them slip to eighth.
Heys will have to keep an eye on Benjamin Driffield whose 14 goals in 18 games see him as the Division 7th highest scorer.
Heys are in good form themselves, unbeaten in six games which have yielded 14 points. They will be looking to lay to rest their “Blackpool Bogey”.
Heys reached this point with a 3-1 home success over Bacup Borough in the Second Round, having received a bye in the opening round.
Blackpool, themselves entered the competition at the second round stage and recorded one of the more eye catching results of the season in beating Silsden 4-0. At the time of the tie, the Yorkshire side had yet to taste defeat against League opposition.
Admission is Adults £5 / Concessions £3 /Under 16's (with Adult ) free. Season Tickets and other regular promotional offers are NOT valid for this fixture.
