Trip to Wythenshawe provides another stiff test

Even at this early stage Heys Reserves have already tasted some big matches.

Their 100% record has gone on the line over the last two weekend’s against fellow early pacesetters in AVRO and Champions Rochdale Sacred Heart but Jeff Kavanagh’s side have come through both with their record intact and a six point lead at the top of the table.

They face another challenge to that proud record this Saturday when they travel to Wythenshawe Amateurs.

The Ammies, sit third in the table with 12 points from six games and will be looking to claw Heys back.

They too have faced AVRO and Sacred Heart, beating the former 2-1 but losing 4-1 to the latter but have enjoyed handsome wins over Springhead and East Manchester in their last two games.

With each game that they win Heys will face a greater challenge as teams bid to become the first to beat them. It will be that motivating force that Kavanagh will hope will drive his team on Saturday to extend that run further.
