Trip to Royton in 1st round

Heys Reserves switch their attention to the Open Trophy on Saturday as they travel to Royton Town for a 1st round tie (2pm).

It will be their second trip of the season to the Oldham Academy North after a 4-1 league success their back in October.

Royton are presently fifth in the table and go into the game looking to get back to winning ways after a run of three successive wins was ended by a 3-0 defeat at Stockport Georgians last week.

After an indifferent display against East Manchester last Saturday, Heys manager Jeff Kavanagh will be looking for his side to step up to the plate and reproduce the form that has characterised so much of the season this far.

Having been knocked out in the opening round in the last couple of seasons the Heys boss will hope for a cup run to match league ambitions for his side in 2015.
