Reserves host Walshaw

Heys take their title aspirations to Hindsford tomorrow.

Needing four points from their last five games, Jon Lyons’ team will face a side that between 2012 and 2014 won the League on three successive occasions.

The Tonics know what it takes to get over the line and are sure to make life as difficult as possible for Heys as they look to secure the points they need.

Hindsford were in the title running themselves up until mid February but a 6-3 league defeat to Heys brought a dip in form that brought just one point in four games.

They are unbeaten in their last four games though, a run sparked ironically by the 5-0 thrashing they dished out to Heys in the Atherton Charity Cup semi-final last month.

As good as Hindsford were that night, Heys were just as bad – they simply didn’t turn up. They know they will have too tomorrow to keep their title hopes ticking over.

This will be the 5th meeting across all competitions this season and save the Charity Cup game Heys came out on top in the other three – something they will be aiming to repeat.

Kick off at Squires Lane, Tyldesley, M29 8JF is 2pm.

It’s Derby Day for the Reserves as they host Walshaw at Adie Moran Park, 2pm.

Matt Jolly’s side opened up an eight point lead at the top of the table with their win at Monton last night and now face a Walshaw side that are presently sixth in the table.

The Bury side are one of the few teams to have taken points off Heys this season, drawing 4-4 in the early weeks of the campaign. They arrive fresh from a 4-0 win at Manchester Gregorians last Saturday.

Heys would appear to have recovered from losing their unbeaten record for the season in winning three on the bounce and will be looking to consolidate their position as well as take the derby honours.
