Saturday, Adie Moran Park, 2pm.

Heys return to Adie Moran Park on Saturday when Bury rivals Elton Vale will be the visitors, (2pm).

Jon Lyons’ side go into the game in a rich vein of form with six successive wins to their name, a run which has lifted them to third in the table.

The run has put Heys on course for the top five spot they need as part of the North West Counties promotion criteria and has stirred hopes of another title challenge.

However, the Heys boss will be aware that there is much still do on both counts. The winning run has gone some way to preparing the damage caused by the slow start to the season and he will look to his side to kick on from here.

Heys certainly would not mind a repeat of the score line at Elton Vale earlier in the season when they won 5-0. But they will meet a Vale side who have played better away from home this season, collecting fifteen of their nineteen points on their travels.

They have some impressive results amongst those statistics too with victories at Wythenshawe Amateurs and Stockport Georgians and a draw at Royton. They were only beaten by the odd goal in seven at Champions Hindsford.

With Walshaw facing Hindsford and Georgians at AVRO, there is a chance for Heys to make further progress at the top end of the table if they can win.

It is clear though that Vale are well capable of extinguishing such notions.
