Reserves travel to Chapel Town

For the second time in as many weeks Heys welcome City of Liverpool FC to Adie Moran Park on Saturday in the Second Round of the Macron Cup, kick off 3pm.

It’s only two weeks ago that the sides met with League points at stake with Heys taking the honours with a 1-0 win in what proved a really tight contest with little to choose between the sides.

Shaun Johnson scored the decisive goal in the 55th minute but it also took an injury time penalty save by Danny Taberner to confirm the win.

After a bit of a blip in results the visitors look to have regained the form they showed earlier in the season with a good 2-0 home win over Alsager last week and they will arrive looking to gain revenge for that League defeat.

From Heys perspective, they will be looking to bounce back after last Saturday’s disappointing defeat at Cheadle. After a run of four successive wins, Heys came unstuck with a poor performance, particularly in the second half, that brought to an end the good run.

On a positive note Michael Itela and Danny White both made comebacks in that game after lengthy injury absences and will be in contention for Saturday’s game.

With this being a Cup game and to comply with Competition rules there will be an increased admission price on Saturday. Prices are Adults £5, Concessions £3, Under 16’s (accompanied by an Adult) £1.

Heys Reserves make their longest trip of the season on Saturday when they travel to Chapel Town (2pm).

After a slow start to the season Chapel have won four of their last six games and are presently 14th in the table with 15 points from 12 games.

They won 4-1 away at Westbury last weekend, the hosts being one of only two teams to take points off Heys this season.

Heys were much improved from their Bolton County defeat in winning 4-0 at home to Altrincham Hale last weekend and Manager Tony Hanson will be looking for another good performance ahead of a month that sees a Gilgryst Cup quarter final and games against several sides in the top half of the League Table.
