A look ahead to Heys first ever trip to Oswestry

Heys return to action on Saturday when they make their first ever trip to FC Oswestry Town. (3pm)

The Shropshire side, like Heys, entered the Hallmark Security League at the start of the season and have acquitted themselves well.

At present they sit in tenth place with the same number of points as Heys, 38, but have played four more games and still have an eye on the play-offs.

Its only six weeks ago that the two sides met at Adie Moran Park. Oswestry arrived that day as the form side in the Division but in a hugely entertaining game they met a Heys team in top form as Jon Lyons men ran out 5-2 winners.

Town have since had a difficult spell with defeats against Charnock Richard, Whitchurch Alport and Sandbach before a 0-0 draw at home to Stockport Town in their last outing a fortnight ago stopped the run.

Oswestry play on the 3g at the hugely impressive ground The Venue, which they share with The New Saints. However, they have amassed a higher number of their points away from home where they have picked up 22 of the 38-point total.

Heys travel in need of a win to keep their play-off ambitions ticking over. The 3-2 defeat at Silsden last time out ended a three game winning run. Jon Lyons has strengthened the squad since then with the signings of Brian Matthews and Tunji Moses whilst also drafting in goalkeeper Andrei Stinca with Danny Taberner out for the season.

The Heys boss is looking for his side to establish more long term consistency in their performances and results and with the new signings on board will be looking for his side to start such a run on Saturday.

Before the game FC Oswestry will be holding a minute silence for their former player Gerry Broadhead who has sadly passed away. Everyone at Heys extends their condolences to his family and all at the club
