First of last five games to secure Top 5 spot.

Five games to left to secure a top five finish.

That’s the challenge facing Heys as they prepare for Saturday’s trip to Springhead.

With ten wins in their last thirteen games they have surged up the table to presently hold top position.

However, they have played more games than any other side and still have much to do to secure that top five spot they need for promotion to the North West Counties League. That's the first target for Heys with anything on top of that a welcome bonus.

Over the years, based on a 30 game season, 51 points has secured such a place meaning on that basis Heys still need at least three wins.

On paper, Springhead, fourth from bottom, represents a real chance to record one of those wins. Except, Heys know that this will be far from the case. Only three weeks ago, the Lees based side rolled up at Adie Moran Park and gave Heys a real fright and arguably deserved something from the game, before Shaun Johnson clinched victory with a 74th minute strike.

Springhead’s tight St. John Street ground is always a difficult place to go and Heys have had some real battles there over the years.

Jon Lyon’s side will have to prepare for another tough afternoon on Saturday. Springhead’s need is every much as great as Heys as they seek the points to lift them away from the relegation zone.

Last Saturday’s defeat at Walshaw, coupled with wins for many of the other top sides, turned up the heat on Heys but their record over those 13 games speaks for itself and the qualities shown in that sequence will need to be on show for one last push starting on Saturday.

Kick off is 2pm.
