Platt Lane, Saturday, 2.30pm

Jeff Kavanagh takes his Heys Reserves side to Manchester Gregorians this Saturday for a game that could have a bearing on the destiny of the Division Two title.

Whilst Premier League Champions Manchester City may have vacated Platt Lane, the venue will still ring to the tune of title ambitions as Gregs and Heys will meet with eyes fixed on title honours.

Heys have led the table from the opening days of the season and go into the game with a five point lead at the top of the table.
Gregs sit in the 3rd place, ten points back with game in hand. They will go into the game knowing they need to get the win to keep their hopes alive.

Until successive defeats in the past fortnight in League and Cup to Hindsford, Gregs had reeled off five successive win to shoot up the table. However, nothing but a win on Saturday will keep their hopes alive.

On paper, the game represents one of the toughest remaining challenges for Heys who will go into the game knowing a win would really boost their hopes of going on to land the title.

After a week off, Kavanagh will hope his team will be refreshed and ready for the challenge and carry the bounce gathered from the thrilling Open Trophy success at Royton in their last outing.

The match is one they can prepare for in the safe knowledge that the inclement weather is unlikely to cause any problems for the 3G surface.
