First team away, Reserves at home

It’s back to league action for Heys this Saturday as they make the tough trip to Dukinfield Town (2pm).

Town currently sit in sixth place in the Premier Division table with ten points from six games.

Nine of those points have come from home victories where they boast a 100% record so far this season with Uppermill, Walshaw and AVRO having left Blocksages empty handed.

Dukinfield come into the game on the back of a 3-2 win at Springhead in the Gilgryst Cup last weekend and will be looking to build on their solid start to the season.

Heys for their part had a comfortable afternoon last weekend in beating Uppermill 2-0 in the Gilgryst but know they will have to be on their mettle for what is always a tough trip to Blocksages.

Jon Lyons’ team enter the game unbeaten so far, in second place, three points behind leaders Royton, but have a game in hand.

Dukinfield’s ground is at Blocksages, Birch Lane, Dukinfield SK16 5AP

Heys Reserves are in a similar position in Division Two having seen Wythenshawe Amateurs take advantage of their cup commitments last week and go top of the table.

Matt Jolly’s team sit two points behind, with a game in hand, ahead of Saturday’s home match with Dukinfield Reserves.

Dukinfield sit in third, three points further back, having made an impressive start to the season following their promotion from Division Three as Champions last season.

Indeed with only three defeats in their last 27 league games, 22 of which have been won, Heys will face a stiff test of the credentials as they look to retain the title they won so impressively last season.

Kick- off at Adie Moran Park is 2pm.
