Heys v Hindsford, Saturday, Adie Moran Park, 2pm.

Heys are hoping local football fans will rally to the cause and get behind them on Saturday.

“Three games left and three cup finals” is how Manager Jon Lyons describes Heys remaining fixtures as they strive for the top 5 finish that could seal promotion to the North West Counties League.

The opposition couldn’t be any tougher as three of the League’s biggest names will descend on Adie Moran Park over the next fortnight in the shape of East Manchester, AVRO and this Saturday’s visitors Hindsford.

The Champions hopes of landing a fourth successive title now look to be over after a disappointing run of form since the turn of the year that sees them without a win in eight games.

However, they still have much quality in their side, with plenty of players who have figured in that triple title success and the law of averages suggests that barren run must end sometime soon.

A 3-0 home defeat at Heys hands in March forms part of that sequence of results, a scoreline that reflected the nature of the game.

Hindsford will be wounded and looking to hit back. Heys will need to be on their guard. If recent weeks have proved anything it is that they are there to be shot at. The publicity around the push for the Counties as ensured no one is going to stand aside and make it easy.

Heys have achieved much in recent months and are the league’s form team since the turn of the year. Now they have to finish the job. They were disappointing in last weeks defeat at Stockport and must bounce back starting Saturday if all their hard work isn’t to be unravelled.

With United and City not playing until Sunday Heys are hoping local football fans will rally to the cause and get behind them on Saturday.

Admission is £2/£1.
