As kick off approaches the Heys boss looks ahead to tonight's game

We took further steps towards the title this week with victories against the two most recent Champions of our League.

We had a tough game against a tricky Stockport Georgians side and we grinded out a win. I thought we looked nervous going into the game and it took a while for us to click. However, it shows the quality in our squad that we beat last year Champions when performing under par!

Saturday’s trip to Hindsford was another a big test. It took a great performance to beat the side that finished Champions three years running, between 2012-14, so comfortably on a terrible pitch. We played cleverly and I've got to say I couldn't have asked for a better performance from the lads. A big three points. Brilliant.

Tonight we face Wythenshawe Amateurs. We know going into this game that a point will seal the title, but it's not going to be easy. As we found out in the game three weeks ago, when we drew 1-1, they are a hard side to break down. They also caused us problems on attack.

Ultimately, they were probably happy with the draw. However, from my perspective, they made it difficult for 75 minutes.
We hit the woodwork four times which was disappointing and we should have gone on and won the game.

It's a massive game for, us like any fixture can be. But this is a special night for us. The lads, the coaches and the guys who watch us every week!

I'm hoping we get a decent turn out of spectators again and we can get the result. It's been a tough and challenging season for us, as have the past four years. Myself and the coaching staff involved have pushed and challenged to get us in this position.

I believe now that we deserve to win this League. If we can win it tonight, early, with four games left, will show the commitment the lads have given this year. From the younger lads to the experienced ones, it's been brilliant. We have stayed focused and kept finding ways to win.

We also have two Cup Finals to look forward to but firstly let's win this League!
