Reserves battle back to draw

Erike Sousa scored twice as Heys returned to winning ways with a comfortable 4-0 win over Carlisle City at Adie Moran Park.

Jon Lyons' side controlled the game for long periods but some profilgate finishing and spirited defence mean't that it was not until the last half hour that Heys could feel secure.

After dominating the first quarter Heys took the lead in the 22nd minute with a close range finish from Danny White.

White had the chance to double the tally on the stroke of half time from the penalty spot but his spot kick hit the bar.

A spirited opening to the second half from Carlisle threatened to undo Heys work but in the 66th minute Sousa rifled home from 20 yards to to give Heys a cushion.

It was not until late in the game that Heys underlined their overall superiority with Dom Slaven rifling home in the 88th minute and then two minutes later Sousa drilled home his second.

Full report to follow.

Heys Reserves lost their 100% record in a 2-2 draw at Westbury Sports.

However, they again showed great resilience in coming from two goals down to earn a point that gives them a four point cushion at the top of Manchester League Division One.
