Traditionally, the competition has only been for Manchester League Premier Division teams. However, this season all teams in the Premier and 1st Division will enter. Those knocked out in the 1st round will then be entered in the Murray Shield, which was for 1st Division teams only previously.

The draw maintains the derby rivalry between the clubs that look set to end following Heys move to the Hallmark Security League.

However, the sides will now meet at Adie Moran Park on Tuesday 23rd August, 6.30pm.
