Division Two title race set to go to the wire

Heys Reserves face a defining week as they bid to retain the Division Two title.

Despite suffering only one defeat all season Matt Jolly’s team still have much to do to win the league and so complete their own double following their Open Trophy success.

Stockport Georgians have also had a fine season winning fifteen of their last seventeen games to take the title race into the final week.

They presently sit second in the table two points behind Heys whom have a game in hand.

Heys are due to travel to Georgians next Saturday in what could prove to be a deciding game but before then they have two home games.

On Tuesday they welcome third placed Rochdale Sacred Heart to Adie Moran Park, 7pm. It will be the 3rd meeting in as many weeks following the Open Trophy Final, won by Heys on penalties, and last week’s dramatic 4-4 league draw where Heys came from 4-0 down.

Heys know they cannot afford to slip as this may open the door for Georgians who host Wythenshawe Amateurs on Tuesday night before travelling to Rochdale on Thursday.

On Thursday night Heys host Elton Vale, 7pm. It’s the first match between the pair this season with the return on Tuesday May 24th – Heys final game. By then they will hope to be lifting more silverware!
