Heys opened their pre-season campaign with a 2-0 win at Tottington on Saturday.
Jon Lyons took the opportunity to give as many players as possible a run out with the first half seeing a host of new faces starting before more familiar faces took to the field as the game progressed.
As it was it was a combination of the old and the new that gave Heys their win.
Dalton McLaughlin, a summer signing from AFC Monton opened the scoring and also saw a further effort ruled out.
Long serving Martin Love added the second goal for Heys to cap a good work out against a determined Tottington side.
Heys now head to Breightmet on Wednesday night as they begin their defence of the Kenyon Cup, kick off 6.30pm.
