Heys manager's programme notes adapted from the programme for yesterday's postponed game.

The play-offs still remains the target as I stated in my last programme notes. To that end I have strengthened the squad this week with three new signings.

It was disappointing that our game with Charnock Richard was postponed yesterday.

I was looking forward to the game against a side who have had a great debut season in the League and are well placed for a tilt at promotion.

They have been steadily consistent over the season, something which continues to evade us. Last Saturday, at Silsden, was a case in point.

We went into the game on the back of some impressive performances and three straight wins. However, we just didn’t get started at Silsden until we found ourselves 3-0 down after half an hour.

All over the park we were guilty of some slack play and although we rallied well in the second half we left ourselves with too much to do. It’s not the first time this season we have let ourselves down. The defeat at Cheadle in November springs to mind when again we went into that game on the back of a good run but never showed up on the day.

It is that inconsistency that has stopped us breaking into the leading pack and whilst we still have games in hand and there is a long way to go, we have to start putting an extended run together now if we are to keep our play-off hopes alive.

The play-offs still remains the target as I stated in my last programme notes. To that end I have strengthened the squad this week with three new signings.

Sadly, we will be without Danny Taberner for the rest of the season. Tabs went down injured late in the game last week with a recurrence of a long standing injury and now faces an operation and a spell on the side lines. He has been great for us this season between the sticks and I wish him a speedy recovery.

Accordingly, I have brought in Andrei Stinca as our new goalkeeper. Andrei comes to us with plenty of experience most recently at AFC Monton and FC United.

I have also signed Brian Matthews and Tunji Moses. Brian signed for us from Congleton earlier in the season but was then promptly snapped up by Runcorn Linnets. However, he has now opted to come back to us and will add to our striker options.

Tunji is a player of great experience having played for the likes of Salford City, FC United and Ashton United but has been out of the game for a while with an injury. He has trained with us in recent weeks and now put pen to paper and will bring further options to us in midfield.

We now turn our attention to next Saturday’s game at Oswestry Town where I will be looking for us to respond to the Silsden defeat and get back to winning ways.
