Heys extended their winning run to seven games with a comfortable 2-0 win over Elton Vale.

It started shaky when Elton gave an early test for Rob Sadler coming from a great run from Elton’s full back.

15 minutes later Heys somehow didn’t put the ball in the back of the old onion bag with them hitting the crossbar and getting it cleared off the line.

Chris Denham had quite a few chances in the first half non better when he stole the ball from the defender and put the ’keeper at full stretch who saved to his right.

The second half wasn’t two minutes old when Heys hot a penalty. A woeful effort though by George Powell put Heys in more misery.

At the 60th minute Heys finally got their goal courtesy of Danny Eyres. Before the goal he hit the crossbar then it fell for Denham but the ‘keeper parried before it fell to Danny again and he megged the ‘keeper from close range.

Heys didn’t have to wait long to get there second. A Chris MacKay screamer from 35 yards out sealed the game for Heys.

So Heys title challenge continues. With motivation high Heys will look forward to the next game.
