Aspiring journalist 13 year old Jack Gardiner gives his view of Heys draw with Walshaw

An entertaining but disappointing game for Heys.

Especially disappointing considering Walshaw went down to 10 men after their number 7 went in on Sousa with a high challenge.

Surprisingly the away side took the lead in the 23rd minute by a 20 yard shot by the number 8. Darius Photiou should have done better with a clearing header leading up to the goal.

Heys were not behind for long though. Chris Denham dug Heys out of a ditch with an outstanding volley into the centre of the goal. No chance for the goalkeeper.

In the first half Chris Denham and ErIke Sousa were Heys best players.

The second half was quite a quiet half with 3 subs for Heys. It didn’t lighten up until there was ten minutes left with excellent saves from the Walshaw ‘keeper.

The final whistle went and you could tell the Heys players weren’t happy.

So a disappointing afternoon for Heys. I am sure they will be having shooting practice midweek in training.

Man of the Match: Sousa
