Joffy's 300 games as Manager marked

Jon Lyons' 300 competitive games as Manager was formally recognised before last Saturday's home game with Longridge Town.

Joffy reached the milestone in the 2-1 victory at Chadderton in November, where he also completed his seventh year as Manager at the club.

When he took the reins in November 2011, Heys were bottom of the Manchester League Premier Division, with only five points to their name. Ten points adrift of safety with only fifteen games left it looked a big ask for Heys to stay up, but a remarkable upturn in form saw them clinch safety.

Thereafter, Heys improved year on year culminating in the treble winning 2015-16 season that also saw a return to the North West Counties League.

Heys have continued to progress, winning their first ever semi-professional trophy in lifting the Hallmark Security League Division One Cup last season.

This year has seen the club return to the FA Cup after a 34-year absence, with their tie with Radcliffe streamed live by the BBC and enjoy a good run in the FA Vase.

The club has come a long way from when Jon first came through the doors and the presentation by Chairman Neil Gilmore was deserved recognition for Joffy's achievements.
