League Leaders await Jon Lyons' team on Wednesday night

After successive away wins Heys put their play-off ambitions to the stiffest of tests on Wednesday night when they travel to League Leaders Litherland REMYCA. (7.45PM)

The Merseysiders are in red hot form, unbeaten in their last eleven games and with eight successive wins under their belts.

A side that mixes Youth and experience headed by free scoring forwards Colin McDonald and Colin Quirk they have moved five points clear at the top of the table on the back of that run.

Heys themselves enter the game in good spirits. Successive away wins at Whitchurch and Holker, have kept Jon Lyons’ team play-off hopes ticking over after the losses at Oswestry and Silsden.

Those defeats mask an overall run of five wins in the last seven games, normally good form, but the margin for error is getting tight for Heys now and they need to put together a run similar to that of Wednesday’s hosts.

This will the third meeting of the season between the teams. The previous two were at Adie Moran Park with Heys winning 2-1 in the Reusch Division Cup before REMYCA took the honours in the League in November with a 3-2 win.

Both contests were entertaining and close affairs and with much at stake a cracking game looks in prospect.
