Reserves open home campaign against Hindsford Reserves

After last weekend's opening day defeat Heys face another tough assignment on Saturday when they travel to Dukinfield Town (2pm).

Town were one of the sides challenging for the title last season and have high hopes again this time round.

They started this season off, like Heys, with a defeat, losing 2-1 at Wythenshawe Amateurs so will be looking for their first three points too. Heys will have to be mindful of the threat of striker Tyler Devlin, who was the Manchester League's top scorer last season.

From Heys point of view, they will travel believing they did little wrong, if anything in their defeat to Georgians at weekend and will be looking to repeat the 3-2 success they enjoyed at Dukinfield when the teams last met in February.

Jon Lyons will hope to have Marvin Walters and George Powell available again, both having missed last weekend's match.

Meanwhile, Heys reserves open their home campaign when they take on Hindsford Reserves at Adie Moran Park. (2pm).

After last weekend's emphatic 7-1 win at Walshaw, Jeff Kavanagh will be looking for his side to guard against complacency.

Not that there should be any against a Hindsford side who came fifth last season and who opened with an good 3-3 draw at East Manchester last Saturday.

With the visitors likely to be amongst the front runners again this is a good early chance for Heys to put a marker down for the season ahead.
