Heys confirm Shawcross swoop and Belcher return

Heys have swooped to sign Chadderton wide man Will Shawcross.

The youngster is in his first season at senior level but has made a massive impression with some great displays for Chadderton.

In his eighteen games Will (pictured in action against Heys) has scored four times and received five Man of the Match Awards.

Only last week, he was named the Macron 1st Division North Player of the Month for November, on the back of three of those Man of the Match nominations, during which he chipped in with two goals and three assists.

In welcoming Will to the club, a delighted Heys Manager Jon Lyons said " I am very excited to have signed Will and I am looking forward to seeing this very tricky, quick, young player in our side".

At the same time, Lyons also confirmed that Alfie Belcher is on his way back to Adie Moran Park.

Currently on a scholarship in America, Alfie, who scored 19 goals in 43 appearances last season, is flying home for Xmas and will be available to Heys for seven weeks.

The Alfie Belcher Fan Club are reported to be "beyond excited".
