Heys steamroller Town at 1st and Reserve team level

Heys double header with Dukinfield Town ended in double delight today as they recorded comfortable wins at both 1st team and Reserve team levels.

The 1st team won 3-0 in the Premier Division clash at Blocksages.

Jon Lyons' team were dominant from start to finish on the back of some superb football to which the home side had no answer.

Paul Tierney (pictured) put them ahead after five minutes before George Powell added a second from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute.

Lee Bruce sealed the game in the 70th minute for Heys who also hit the woodwork three times.

The result takes Heys joint top of the table with Royton who lost at Springhead 3-0 and AFC Monton who defeated Hindsford 2-1.

The Reserves made it 12 months unbeaten with a 5-0 win over 3rd placed Dukinfield Reserves at Adie Moran Park.

Matt Jolly's side were in control throughout against a side who had won 22 of their last 27 games.

Ryan Cain and Luke Hodson gave them a 2-0 lead half time lead.

Chris Quirke, Jon Stephenson and James Conroy then scored in the second half to put the Reserves top of the table.

Full reports to follow on both games.
