SIX goals, SIX successive win and SIX points off the top as Paul Tierney fires another hat-trick

Heys moved to within six points of the Premier Division summit as they beat AVRO at Grimshaw Park this afternoon to record a sixth successive win.

For the second match running Paul Tierney fired a hat-trick as Heys followed up the resounding win against AVRO at the Lancaster Club seven days ago with another emphatic victory.

Instilled with the confidence that triumph gave them, Heys were out of the traps quickly to put AVRO under pressure from the kick off and opened the scoring after 14 minutes when Tierney headed home from a Jon Lyons cross.

The Heys boss was involved again three minutes later as his side doubled their lead. His free -kick was parried by the 'keeper and Erike Sousa nipped in to to score from the rebound.

Tierney then volleyed home a stunning third and his second in the 27th minute after a huge goal kick from Rob Sadler.

Although AVRO had their moments they could not cope with Heys attacking enterprise which brought a fourth goal in the 41st minue as George Powell completed a strong run with a drilled, low shot from the edge of the area into the bottom corner.

AVRO opened the second half in spirited fashion and penned Heys back but they were undone again in the 63rd minute when Sousa won a tackle on half way to release Conor Landers whose low cross provided a tap in for Tierney to complete his hat-trick. (pictured)

Four minutes later Sousa got his second, ghosting in at the far post to head home a deep cross from Greg Wills and finish the scoring.

The win lifts Heys to fourth in the table ahead of a Wednesday night's tricky derby at Walshaw.
