Chairman Neil Gilmore reflects on another busy week at Heys

What a good bank holiday weekend, the 1st team travelled to Uppermill, and came out as victors with a 2-0 result keeping us in second spot.

The reserves continue their unbeaten run with a home win, 3-1 against Hollinwood and remain at the top of the table.

Karl Kavanagh arranged a car boot on Sunday at AMP helped by members of the committee and supporters, it was very well received and is something that we will do again, after the interest and feedback from the car booting community.

Tonight sees visitors from the West Lancs League in the Bolton hospital cup quarter final, welcome to Turton and your supporters.

I will be missing for a couple of weeks, but will be following the results from my lounger in the sun.

The next 1st team home league game is the Saturday 5th September against Walshaw Sports KO 2pm.

Always a fiercely competitive game with some good banter between supporters.

The reserves are away to Walshaw reserves.

On my return I will be seeking investors/ sponsors from local businesses and further afield.

I think it is time we looked at putting a sign up on Sandgate road, advertising our fixtures and events.

So if there are any sign writers or anyone who can do an advertising board get in touch.

If you want to see some entertaining football get yourself along on match days and get behind the team.

We have a licensed bar so you can have a refreshing drink whilst watching the game.

For not a lot of money you can have an enjoyable afternoon in the fresh air whilst supporting our club.

Finally a quick thank you to physiotherapist Andrew Kay who is treating our injured players and getting them back in the mix.
