HEYS stretched their unbeaten run to four games as they bounced back from a goal down to claim all three points at Hollinwood on Saturday.

Mat Jolly equalised for Heys on the stroke of half-time before Daniel Murray nodded in Paul Taylor's free-kick to seal the win.

In one of only two games that took place in the Premier Division, both on artificial surfaces, Liam Morrissey’s men were forced in to an early re-shuffle when striker Brandon Jolly pulled up with a hamstring injury after only 6 minutes.

Sub Michael Hoggard entered the fray a lot earlier than expected but was soon in the thick of the action forcing a corner after the Hollinwood ‘keeper saved one-on-one.

As the resulting corner came to nothing, the home side replied with their first attack of note when a forward sprinted clear of the Heys defences only to send his effort wide of a post.

Winger Jonathan Little then fired over the bar before Hoggard’s shot across the face was turned behind with Heys looking more likely to open the scoring.

But when Heys gave away a needless free-kick in the 28th minute, Hollinwood’s Alan Beckett took full advantage thumping his free-kick in just under the crossbar.

Kieran Watson in the Heys goal then tipped another effort over the bar as the home side searched for a quick-fire second to double their lead.

Leading scorer Mat Jolly flicked a header wide from Tony Cutler’s well placed free-kick as the visitors pressed for an equaliser before half-time.

And that leveller duly came in the 44th minute when Jolly raced clear to round the stranded ‘keeper and slot in to the empty net.

Heys momentum continued after the break and when Paul Taylor’s deep free-kick found the head of Daniel Murray, the centre-half made no mistake and notched up his second goal in as many games.

Prestwich then enjoyed their best spell of the match as they ran rings round their opponents and, with a touch more composure in front of goal, could have grabbed at least another three.

Hollinwood carved out one decent chance from a corner which was headed over the bar before Mat Jolly sliced wide in the dying moments.

The win moved Heys up to sixth in the Premier Division ahead of Saturday’s trip to 7th placed Elton Vale as the Sandgate Road side look to cement their position in the top third of the table.

HEYS: Watson, Monks, Cunningham, D Murray (1), Taylor, Cutler, L Murray, Barker, B Jolly (Hoggard), M Jolly (1), Little
